Kuroko no Basuke Rankings

My favourite anime of all time, bar none!!! AND i mean none.

Disclaimer on how i rank: Yes, some players have higher averages than others, for example Aomine has way higher specs than Akashi, who is rather short. On a basketball forum, we would be nba fans first and kuroko fans second. From an anime POV? we definitely have to put kuroko, an anime, as our top priority! (I don't wanna rank anime characters based on real life ratings, which would be totally different.)

With that in mind, as with any anime, we always consider the players' maximum power when discussing their power levels. standard anime procedure. the only thing is we need to add a small negative to kise since his full power can be maintained for such a short time but the others can maintain their full powers for at least a large portion of the game. I'm assuming this based on their current levels at the end of the extra game, were they to play a new match.

GoM (and GoM-level players) rankings:

Unfortunately, although i think its insanely unfair as i feel midorima is the most important player in the team in the extra game match, and no doubt he would be named mvp of the extra game match as without him, our guys would never have caught up (although that is true for every single player), it is without a doubt that his full power is the lowest of the GoM. However, he is definitely the most useful one.

#8 Midorima Shintaro

Now, lets start from #1. It is undeniably Akashi. Before Akashi combined his 2 selves, there was nobody that could beat Nash one on one (even the final dunk was purposely drawn to show us that aomine and kagami actually dunked it on nash together, 2 on 1, despite them being both in the zone. also, it was clear earlier on that nash could beat either of them 1 on 1, when he did the 3 point play on zone kagami). But the moment Akashi combined his selves, he could see the future beyond the future and stole the ball from Nash. He beat nash comprehensively to the point where nash didn't dare to try anything funny as it was a given at that point that the same thing would happen as previously (akashi would steal the ball from nash again). Even though Akashi only had time to beat Nash once, it was written comprehensively and obviously enough that from that point on, he had already surpassed Nash. Basically, Nash > everyone with zone, Akashi > Nash, so Akashi is #1.

#1 Akashi Seijuro

#2 Nash (already explained above)

#3 Kise Ryota

Yes, he only maintained his form for a short while, but dang if he didn't turn the game around. for me that was the most touching moment of the whole extra game, up there with when murasakibara got hurt and kuroko got pissed (althou they messed it up cos kuroko barely did jack. i understand it, mind. Kuroko is quite out of his depth at this point in the series, but he has main protagonist hax.) Also, Kise with perfect copy and zone was pretty much unstoppable until he ran out of steam. This is a complete fact. However, nash wasn't at his full power at that time so its hard to say who is stronger, but i would still give it to nash as nash can maintain his power for a much longer time. But Kise definitely beats all the rest. Even in the main anime, they had to nerf Kise with an injury for Seirin to beat Kaijo. And Kaijo already has the 2nd weakest team among the GoM teams (Touou has the weakest team, since Kasamatsu surpasses Imayoshi somewhat. The shooters are pretty equal and the rebounders too, although i prefer hayakawa over wakamatsu, as i'm pretty sure hayakawa grabbed more rebounds than wakamatsu in the series, although i obviously didn't count. Either way, Touou and Kaijo are pretty weak relatively speaking, which makes Kise and Aomine all the more impressive.)

#4 Kagami Taiga

#5 Aomine Daiki

It pains me to put it this way as I am the biggest Aomine fan in the world, but i'm also a very logical guy and have to base it on the facts. It is a fact that kagami beat Aomine before when they were both at their max. And another big problem is that the author purposely drew kagami as the one that blocked silver, while aomine only stopped the other (kinda insignificant) player when both of them went into the zone together. While i wish Aomine could be higher, it is obvious to me that the author means to put kagami above aomine. my only consolation is that the difference between the two is so small its negligible. But if i had to be fair, and i am, Aomine is #5.

#6 Murasakibara Atsushi

#7 Silver

Kagami and aomine are basically the same, and kagami stopped silver as did murasakibara the moment all 3 of them went into the zone. This means all of them are better than silver. i hate silver so much btw so this carries alot of personal bias. but facts show that they are superior to silver. before silver went dirty mode and injured murasakibara, he was completely destroying silver. kagami also stopped silver after going zone. I'm assuming aomine is also above silver since aomine and kagami are basically equal in the zone. also, although it is an assumption, i believe it is pretty much a given that zone aomine could stop silver just like zone kagami did, and the only reason kagami got the kill was because it makes more sense for aomine, a speed based player, to rotate onto the insignificant player faster, and kagami, a rim protector, would be the one to stay back and stop silver.
as for murasakibara at #6, it really is a complete deadlock between 5 and 6 and i would be fine with either. Its basically experience and skills vs pure physical talent. I experienced both, and i prefer the former. Kagami is #4 even thou 4-6 is insanely close as kagami did defeat both aomine and murasakibara while all 3 were in the zone (aomine when kagami used the support from his teammates to last longer, and murasakibara with meteor jam). And I find aomine more reliable than murasakibara. So aomine gets 5.

Also, fk silver.

#8 Shogo Haizaki
We're out of GoM level guys for now, but Haizaki and Tatsuya are obviously very close to that level. Haizaki was superior to Kise before Kise had perfect copy, so Haizaki is superior to Himuro for me, who I have not seen surpass any of GoM in their normal states. He did defeat Kagami before Kagami went zone though, but Kagami being a protagonist fluctuates like crazy in his abilities as compared to the GoMs, who are pretty much at that untouchable level for the whole series. Either way, Haizaki and Tatsuya are complete monsters, and nobody outside of the GoM can touch them, and even the GoM cannot defeat them in their base states.

#9 Himuro Tatsuya

#10 Kuroko Tetsuya
How do you rank Kuroko, the main protagonist of the whole show? The answer is you can't. He can beat GoM with his phantom shot and vanishing drive, but he cannot stop any of the GoM at all. However, he is the ultimate team player and arguably the most important one to making Seirin the undisputed strongest team in the whole anime outside of extra game. While it is tough to rank him among the GoM level players (is he GoM? is he not? I have no idea and i don't wanna go into that argument since i have no concrete evidence to back it up, its all so iffy), there is no question he is above uncrowned king level. Throughout the series, he was known as the "phantom sixth man" of the GoM, that phrase alone shows very clearly that the author sees him as just outside the GoM. Also, he completely crushed Hanamiya (who i hate even more than silver btw), who was an uncrowned king.

Now comes the non GoM part, which means Uncrowned Kings ranking time!

#1 Kiyoshi Teppei
Obvious. Do i even need to explain? I'm still going to, mind. Because I finally have a chance to talk about my favourite character in the whole series, KIYOSHI TEPPEI!!! My skills are most akin to Aomine pre-acl, and former akashi (before emperor eye) post-acl, but Kiyoshi teppei gives me the most goosebump inducing moments in the whole series. He is a man among men, the way he protects Seirin is just BOSS. Teppei is strong, fast, skillful and has one of the highest bball iq in the game. He can play point guard, and he can play centre. Also, that moment when Murasakibara went zone and overpowered zone kagami, and teppei's hand came in behind kagami's hand in midair to support. that was just... amazing. And Kiyoshi Teppei has TWO BADASS skills. Right of postponement is insanely good and the best non GoM skill, and vice claw is inhuman. Not inhumane, inhuman.

#2 Reo Mibuchi

#3 Kotarō Hayama

#4 Eikichi Nebuya
Didn't get much air time, but he did overpower Teppei at a point. Teppei was injured though, but it is clear that Nebuya strength surpasses anyone in the anime aside from Murasakibara.

#5 Makoto Hanamiya
Hanamiya is a ugly unibrow who only knows how to play dirty and is a scum of the earth. That aside though, spider's web is a pretty insane skill. And he does have that teardrop shot.

Now comes the interesting part. non GoM and non Kings. (Himuro Tatsuya has already been shown to be at GoM level, just that he cannot go into the zone)

#1 Yukio Kasamatsu
There's no contest, the best non GoM is Kasamatsu. Yes, there are alot of good players outside of the GoM and Kings, but even among them Kasamatsu stands alone as the only person who has defeated a player above his level. Yes, the player was Kuroko, but kuroko is obviously stronger than the uncrowned kings, being at a level that is considered GoM yet not quite GoM. This is due to his special moves, vanishing drive and phantom shot, which even GoM level players cannot stop (aside from Kise, who managed to combined Akashi and Murasakibara's powers to stop the phantom shot). However, Kasamatsu, without all that talent, completely stopped and destroyed the phantom shot singlehandedly, without a double team or anything like that. Now that is an ace player. Also, he drew a charge from Aomine the ace of the GoMs. Badass. Finally, how about that leadership. Aside from Akashi, Kasamatsu is definitely the best captain in the whole series.

#2 Chihiro Mayuzumi
This was a tough one for me. Akashi claims that Mayuzumi is the improved version of Kuroko, which means by right Mayuzumi should actually be in the GoM ranking players. But even though Akashi's word is law, i gotta say this time that Akashi is talking out of his @55. I see Mayuzumi more of Akashi's failed attempt to create another Kuroko for his own team. Kuroko completely destroyed Mayuzumi, and it was easy.

#3 Shoichi Imayoshi
Imayoshi isn't up there with Kasamatsu even though he stopped Kuroko's misdirection, because he did it with the help of satsuki. However, there's no denying he has mad skills. The guy has unlimited range in the half court, he's clutch as fk and his court vision and bball iq are both insane. He also has his own brand of pretty weird leadership.

#4 Tomoki Tsugawa
The defensive ace of the series, he completely shut down Kagami in man to man defence. Although he has zero offence skills and Kagami was kinda weak at that time, its a fact that Tsugawa shut down Kagami, and kagami was never a crappy noob like Hanamichi from slamdunk. Kagami already beat Kise at base level in their very first match. That fluctuating power level though... Kagami being shut down by Tsugawa was definitely weaker than when he beat Kise in the final alley oop, even though the former happened after the latter.

#5 Takao Kazunari
He might be the fastest nonking nonGoM player in the series after Kasamatsu. Also, Midorima's equivalent of zone, the sky direct 3 point shot, requires Takao's passes, which are ridiculously amazing. Takao also managed to break past the double team of an uncrownedking and Mayuzumi. Mad skills. I prefer him over Otsubo for the best shutoko player that isn't midorima.

#6 Otsubo Taisuke
One of the best centres, definitely above Wakamatsu since Otsubo was supposed to be a star player. He even guarded Hyuga during a clutch moment. This shows he is pretty fast, since even though Hyuga is average in speed, that's at guard level, which means that Otsubo, a centre, has guard speed. Also, Otsubo can handle Teppei somewhat.

#5 Hyuga Junpei
Our favourite Seirin Captain, Hyuga Junpei. Clutch shooter even though he missed the most shots among the Seirin players (come on Hyuga!). Barrier Jumper makes him a badass.

#6 Kenichi Okamura
I take Okamura as the best nonstar centre, since he managed to overpower kagami at a certain point. And it was Kagami after he achieved zone, even though kagami was obviously not in the zone at that point when okamura overpowered him. However, fluctuating power levels aside, it was pretty late in the series and kagami had gotten pretty good and okamura was eating him alive for a while there.

#7 Hayakawa
I prefer Hayakawa over Wakamatsu because he definitely grabbed more rebounds in the series. Also, he has the explosive jump skill while Wakamatsu is just a fast centre.

#8 Wakamatsu
I have to take Wakamatsu over Ryo mainly on who he is guarding. Wakamatsu is guarding Teppei, an uncrowned king for all their games, which Ryo is only guarding Hyuga. And doing a pretty good job too, although Hyuga obviously won that battle, since Hyuga's barrier jumper defeats Ryo's quick release.

#9/10 Ryo Sakurai/Yoshitaka Moriyama
These 2 are basically the same in the anime with different characters and shooting abilities. Ryo's quick release and Moriyama weird form makes their shots hard to block, both are deadly shooters with decent defence.

#11 Izuki Shun
He managed to bother Kasamatsu somewhat, even though it was obvious they were on diff levels when Kasamatsu ordered repeated isolations against Izuki to take advantage of the skill gap. However, Izuki developed eagle spear and managed to steal the ball from Kasamatsu a couple of times. not too bad at all.

#12 Rinnosuke Mitobe
The best non starter in the Seirin team, but he is still not a starter. In any other team aside from Rakuzan he would be a starter cos of his hook shot though.
