Sem 2 AY 2011-2012

is over!! longgg ago. so WHY did i wait until now to post this? Because of my fatal weakness: computer games. That was also the reason i think i didnt do so well this sem DESPITE taking only 16 MCs. Diablo 3 is a very dangerous game... I must figure out a way to curb this danger, ASAP! Anyway tomorrow (today actually), 8 hours from now i will get my results. So as usual i'll go through each module one by one and predict my results. MA1506 Following last sem's failure in MA1505 to get an A grade, i really knuckled down for MA1506 and scored a surprisingly high 90% for midterms. Unfortunately, that only constitutes 20% of the total grade, and as per normal, i let my results go to my head, slacked off and played games. Therefore, the final paper didn't go as well as hoped, even though it was definitely an easier paper as compared to the nightmare of MA1505 last sem. However, since it was an easy paper, there is every chance the bell curve will mess me up and give me another B+, but i'm going to go with A- this time. Predicted result: A- CG1108 Yes, i took two lab intensive modules this sem in spite of the teachers warning me not to. But it was much better than expected, as there was a brilliant dude on my team (John) for CG1108 who totally owned the entire project. EE1003 was way tougher though, without the presence of a genius on my team so i'm not too optimistic on that. But CG1108 project should be considered decent, my midterms were insane as usual, 98% with a cohort average of 62%. And as per normal, i slacked off and foamed for finals again -.- I really canNOT be trusted with gaining control over my ego. Brain, please defeat that demon! But considering my midterm results, I'd say this was an A-, maybe even an A if i'm optimistic. But it is really a letdown to get an A- considering this module's predecessor, PC1222 was the module in which i scored my first A+ in NUS. If i do indeed get an A-, i've certainly let my wonderful TA angeline down. Predicted result: A- EE1003 Ahh this module was a real killer. Without a doubt, all my EE year 1 friends and I agree that this module is the hardest module we have EVER taken in NUS. It really is monstrously difficult. The concepts were difficult to grasp, and i broke my brain for the midterms but still died and got the cohort average of 60%. Sigh... Project was okay, there were no finals for this so its down to my project and midterms. Have to say i'm far from optimistic... a B is even likely here. For once ill be optimistic though and go with B+. B+ is an optimistic score -.- bleargh. Predicted result: B+ EE2020 Also without a doubt, my favourite module thus far in NUS. I can even say with confidence i LOVE this module. Mainly because of the labs and the funky little circuits we were supposed to build that can function as loads of small little things like clocks and calculators. I even stayed back as late as 7 for one of the labs (it ended at 5). First time i ever did that in NUS! I've always been wanting to develop a passion for electrical engineering since i joined it knowing absolutely nothing about it, and maths and physics were ehhhh but EE2020, circuit design, was by far the most fun i ever had in a classroom. That said though, although i got A+ for my labs, i totally foamed for my midterms. Amazingly careless is all i can say, i got B for my midterms. If i had gotten an A for my midterms, i would have gone as far as to predict A+ for my final grade, as my finals was pretty good. But B is such a low grade that its bound to drag my grade down... I just hope not down to A-, but its very possible. Hopefully i can still get my A here. Predicted result: A As is obvious, this sem is far from my target at the start of the sem of 5.00 cap. in fact, this actually drags down my cap from 4.56 to 4.55. Weak ttm. I can only conclude 100% that i canNOT be trusted with games of any kind. Computer games, xbox games, handphone games, for the love of all that is holy please, GET THEM AWAY FROM ME!!!
